Bangor, Maine Real Estate

Along the coast, you will find that many homes are second homes belonging to professionals from the Washington-Boston corridor.  Not so in Bangor.  This small city is a place where people put down roots and raise families.  Yet it is close enough to the coast that you can drive to Bar Harbor for the weekend.   Compared to many locales in New England, real estate prices in Bangor are quite affordable (about 1/2 of Boston's housing prices).  Buyers will find everything from sprawling ranch-style homes to old colonials to Victorians to Cape Cods to cottages needing fixing up.
